The Himalayan Jewellery Collection

It only takes one look at the Himalayan jewellery collection to notice the divine intricacies and attention to detail, that only handmade craftsmanship can create. The Himalayan Collection's origins are of Nepal, a country very dear to my heart. Much of Nepalese jewellery is mainly made by the Newar people, a Nepalese ethnic group who live in Kathmandu and the surroundings. The Newar people have been artisans for centuries, and have a rich history closely linked with Tibet, with many people from Tibet living there.

There are ties between Nepal and Tibet through the jewellery, as the pieces often serve as reflections of the people and cultural similarities. For example, the people of both Nepal and Tibet value jewellery not only in dress, but in spirituality and their livelihoods as well.

In addition, although there are many smaller ethnic groups in Nepal who create specific styles of jewellery between each other, they all continue to hold the same idea in mind - that these pieces are more than jewellery, but more as wearable, spiritual art. This is one of the reasons many pieces from the Himalayan jewellery collection are one of a kind.

Within each of their cultures and customs, silver and the stones used are believed to have unique properties, so Tibetan and Nepalese jewellery is also felt to protect the wearer like an amulet. They also believe these pieces can help in healing with maintaining proper energy flow within the body (also known as qi or prana).

As I said before, Nepal and the jewellery from this area are held very close to my heart. Please know that when you make a purchase from this collection, you are not only supporting my small business, but the beautiful artisans here. This ethically manufactured, handmade collection is full of soulful, spiritual artwork from truly beautiful people.

Plus, for every online purchase, I donate 5% to the beautiful organisation BlinkNow, who transparently use their funding to provide nutrition, preventative healthcare and an education to the children of Nepal.
